Pesticides Testing Laboratory, Dharmapuri

The Pesticides Testing Laboratory, Dharmapuri was established  as per    G.O.MS .283  Agriculture ( AP –II ) Department  Dated : 16.07.2007 and started functioning since 01.04.2009 at Collectorate campus, Dharmapuri.

  Objectives:                                                

1.     To analyze  the plant protection chemicals for their physical  and chemical characteristics  based on the  Insecticide Act 1968  and  Rule 1971.

2.     To confirm the specifications of the  Bureau of  Indian Standards.

3.     To report to the enforcing authorities,  to initiate legal proceedings against the manufactures and  dealers.

4.     To ensure the availability of  the  standard pesticides in the market.

The pesticide  samples drawn from various designated blocks by the Insecticide Inspector are analyzed  as per Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) specifications.
